Kevin Shionalyn

Kevin Shionalyn is a PhD student and Graduate Fellow at UTIG. Their research focuses on using machine learning to predict changes to marine-terminating glaciers in Greenland. They are also interested in polar science policy and improving inclusion in the geosciences. Before coming to UT, Kevin worked as an elementary school teacher and earned bachelor degrees in Geology and Political Science. They formerly worked with Dr. Audrey Huerta at Central Washington University, researching the crustal isostacy of Antarctica.
